LIVE MUSIC FUN

A recent trend in the Annapolis and Bowie area is to have bars and restaurants offer live music in the evening during the week and some during the day on weekends. To fill this need, more and more local groups have been popping up, from people who play music as a hobby or teach music and came to know others with similar interests and talents. They have to pick styles of music and specific material that they like and practice these together at home until they have memorized everything and now can play together with enthusiasm and joy in their hearts. If they can bring all these things together, their listeners can be uplifted by the infectious joy and want to return, next time for more, increasing the popularity of the club or restaurant and increasing their income.

Recently a visit to the Bowie Town Grille, found the place was packed for their Wednesday Night Jam, people from all walks of life and the dance floor full, for many danceable tunes!

Some places specialize in Jazz, Country and Western, Rock, or Oldies going back to the teens.

Clubs are, The Killarney House, Mikes Crab House, The Boathouse, The Hideaway, Stan and Joes, Waterman’s Tavern, Eastport Democratic Club, Nonna Angelas, Rans Head on Stage, Twains Tavern, Hero’s Pub, and Molloy’s Irish Pub.

If you find yourself out having a great time at one of these, think of Stroll Davidsonville!

While looking for music pictures I found Cheryl’s daughter Megan singing Black Velvet! WOW!

Please let me know what you think of the article, it took 4 hours to write, edit and find and place pictures! (Cheryl) and she looked up all the clubs.
